From the Director

Good evening! I hope your Spring Break was relaxing and you are ready to finish strong and push through the last few weeks of the school year.


Just a few updates and reminders: first, due to a family emergency, I will not be at school tomorrow and there are lots of things happening that I need your help with!


Marching Band Meeting

This meeting is tomorrow (4/10) at 7:00 PM in the library, please remind others and spread the word. We will announce the show concept for 2017 and will also unveil a bit of show music along with information regarding the 2017 season. This meeting is required for all prospective marching band members.


Oaks and Derby

We are once again working Oaks and Derby this year and we need all hands on deck. The money we raise from this event will be utilized for Music Booster Scholarships and for the upcoming marching band season (we depleted funds earmarked for this during the concert band season in hiring sectional coaches year-round, so we really need ALL hands on deck – not just marching band families). I have to have names of ALL participants turned in by TOMORROW (4/10). Please go HERE to SIGNUP! If a band student is over the age of 16, he or she should sign up to work! 


Raffle Tickets

I handed out raffle tickets to everyone that was in school on Friday before Spring Break. If you did not get any, I will hand those out on Tuesday (4/11). The raffle is the exact same raffle we did last semester with the same prize! More details can be found HERE.


Mattress Fundraiser

We are having our second annual mattress fundraiser on Saturday, May 13 in the BEHS Gym. I will hand out flyers on Tuesday. More details on the mattress fundraiser can be found HERE.


Placement Auditions

Auditions will be available on Smart Music tomorrow through Friday. All students should submit a recording of the etude, the sight-reading, and the required scales by the Friday deadline .
